Lita Rossana Ford (also known as Lita Ford) is an American British guitarist, singer, and songwriter. She played as the lead guitarist in The Runaways - a hard rock band comprised mostly females in the early 1970s. The band was not a success in The United States, but gained immense popularity in the world. Ford began a metal solo career after the band broke up in 1979. After taking voice lessons, Ford released her solo debut album "Out for Blood" which was followed by "Dancin in the Dark". Ford's albums were not very well-received, and so she went under the radar for a few years. In 1988, Ford returned to the limelight with the album that became a huge hit "Lita". It became a huge success for the single 'Kiss Me Deadly,' and the ballad 'Close My Eyes forever. She disappeared from the music industry for a couple of years following her brief popularity.
